The first concert was THE event par: Linkin Park! Their only concert in Switzerland, of course, sold out, 9000 people in the stadium - including me. And what can I say ... I could have also popelnd sit on the toilet and would have spent my time better.
The opening act was called off and so were the guys from LP forced off to a cold start. And in 9000 people that's just not easy. "So why try first?" Will have everyone asking who also only had a bit to do with the concert. As would naturally first band: Absolutely impersonal Performance, barely interacting with the audience, for ages, filled with silence, pauses between songs (the library was apparently the same as the previous stations) and a mega short show. Then, the sound engineer, who had managed only after the fourth or fifth song, build an audible sound.
Jürgen von der Lippe once told of his first appearance in Switzerland. What had taken him completely out of the concept was the fact that, despite all efforts, barely got a laugh during the show. Clearly, he was totally finished with the nerves and then the operator asked him if he did anything wrong. The answer: "No, no! We chaben chöniglich amused ". lasted If one takes that takes into account you can you even imagine how long it was until finally came into the shop atmosphere. My best moment I had about 30 minutes after the start of the concert, as I am of eingepennt. And said more needs to be no more. was
Last Monday it then a well deserved Abwechlsung: Joe Bonamassa in Zurich. Joe plays of childhood and the blues-rock so well that he and 13 or 14 BB King concerts already occurred. I'm still frustrated at the time sitting at home, because suddenly grew hair in places where there were none before (now I would be happy to have hair in places where what used to be times ...). All of this was in-merchants, a place that is a little reminiscent of Wester-saloon: dark wood paneling, mirrors above the bar, etc. A nice location that is a brilliant concert. Did I mention that the Swiss public can be difficult? Here, after the first five minutes already on the heads were wobbling.
addition to brilliant guitar deposits there was also great song, but to be honest this was the only bridge there to the time between the long wrong, absolutely awesome guitar solos. Joe has not made any breaks, songs were seamlessly into one another. The lewd, when he was in the middle of his band tour backstage at the break and sent departed alone on stage. Also very nice: there was finally back looong songs. If you ever noticed that, most radio-friendly tracks only 3.5 minutes? At best, even ringtone compatible? In any event, the concert was worth every franc. One of the best live shows I've seen.
so it was for now. I'm (of course) once again at work do the same again. In radio, as always, is just crap and I present my iPod. So I just tinker with my Youtube a few songs. Something quiet, I'm still tired:
Tracy Chapman - Give me one reason (radio play only "Fast Car", why not even this song?)
BB King feat. Gary Moore - The thrill is gone (Actually, we should always finish the song at the end of the doctoral work lol.)
Morcheeba - Enjoy the ride (the first good song since Skye left the band.)
